Selection and Application of a Computer Programme for Bus Crashworthiness Design 871230
E.C.E. Regulation Number 66, concerning the strength of bus superstructures, is reviewed with respect to the effect on choice of sections used in bus construction. Frontal impact is also briefly considered. The choice and application of a computer programme capable of comparing the performance of the superstructure against the requirements of Regulation Number 66 is discussed. The paper concludes with a comparison between laboratory testing and computer solution.
