Minimization of Connector Size and its Grounds with Heat Transmission Theory 880720

Theoretical and experimental analysis on the temperature distribution of connector-wire systems under current running condition, has turned out the fact that the cooling of the connector greatly depends on the terminated wires. The sizes of the wires and their lengths as well play an important role, while the connector size has little effect on cooling. Therefore, the spacing between the connector cavities should be basically determined by the maximum wire size that is terminated. The connector has a possibility of further size reduction in future.
