Vibration Comfort Of Modern High-Speed Limousine Suspension Systems 885117

The relatively new ride comfort problem of “micro-shake” is investigated. This can be described as a small amplitude constant shake of the body when travelling at normal cruising speeds on well surfaced roads. Since the vehicle occupants do not see the uneveness of the road responsible for the disturbance, the effect is naturally blamed on the car.The paper explains why especially high performance luxury limousines are likely to suffer from this problem and by following the actual development programm of a new luxury limousine it is shown that detailed work on suspension, engine mounts and body structure can produce excellent levels of ride comfort.
