Preliminary Study of Algorithm for Real-Time Flutter Monitoring 912001
This paper describes an algorithm for real-time flutter monitoring. An auto-regressive (AR) model with time varying coefficients is used for continuous monitor of the nonstationary flutter parameters. AR coefficient change rates as well as AR coefficients can be obtained recursively by the Kalman filter implementation. Using these AR coefficients and change rates, the natural frequencies and damping values of vibration modes can be estimated, and these values at a few seconds ahead are also predicted.
This algorithm was tested on simulated data and wind tunnel test data, and showed desirable estimation performance.
