State of Development and Future Prospects of Hydrodynamic Brakes for Trucks and Buses 922454
In the last 20 years, in western Europe, the power capability of commercial vehicles has doubled, whereas the braking power available has only increased by 40%.
Due to the emphasis on economy, safety and increasing traffic density, the importance of continuous braking systems for trucks and busses is of growing significance.
Voith has developed a new line of hydrodynamic continuous braking systems for commercial vehicles for installation on tractors as well as trailers. These solutions offer the possibility of integration into the powertrain's management system.
