Heat Management by Means of Thermal Barriers of Ceramic Fibers in Automotive Components and Systems 931657

The increase in thermal control problems in the vehicle systems and components has been the aim of growth interest due to the current trends and needs in the automotive area. The thermal material failure due the stress, in short term, can be related to the increase of the thermal efficiency, compactation, aerodynamic and weight reduction of the vehicle systems.
This paper shows the construction analysis, application and heat management in automotive components and systems to preserve the efficiency, durability , comfort and safety by using ceramic fiber heat shields in different constructive shapes, as well as will compare the different materials that are used to this objective.
