With Automotive emission legislation become ever more stringent, fuel injection systems are rapidly replacing the carburettor. The demand for high volume fuel injection systems at a competitive cost has led to the development of a low cost thermoplastic throttle body.
This paper describes the intensive development programme undertaken to achieve the first high volume automotive thermoplastic throttle body.
