Lift Capacity Calculation and Test Procedure-Pipelayer and Sideboom

1979-03-01
HISTORICAL
J743B_197903
This SAE Standard describes a method to calculate and a test procedure to validate rated lift capacity as presented in commercial literature for pipelayers and tractors or loaders (wheel or crawler), equipped with a hydraulic or mechanically operated sideboom. Rated lift capacity considers hoist mechanism limits, tipping loads, and rope factor. After the lift capacity is validated by testing, a reduction factor is applied to establish the rated lift capacity for the specific pipelayer or sideboom configuration.

Machine Slope Operation Test Code

1978-05-01
HISTORICAL
J897_197805
This SAE Standard applies to off-road self-propelled construction, forestry and industrial machines as listed in categories 1, 2, and 4 of SAE J1116. Purpose This Standard provides a field procedure to determine the ability of a machine to operate statically and dynamically on sloping surfaces. Depending upon the objective of the test, any item listed as specified is to be selected at the discretion of either the manufacturer, the test agency, the owner, or a combination of these parties.

Lift Capacity Calculation and Test Procedure-Pipelayer and Sideboom

This SAE Standard describes a method to calculate and a test procedure to validate rated lift capacity as presented in commercial literature for pipelayers and tractors or loaders (wheel or crawler), equipped with a hydraulic or mechanically operated sideboom. Rated lift capacity considers hoist mechanism limits, tipping loads, and rope factor. Loading Ability Test Procedure - Scrapers

1977-06-01
HISTORICAL
J764_197706
This SAE Information Report applies to all independent or combination construction and industrial machines that are designed to scraper-load and transport material. (See SAE J1116 and J1057a.) The purpose of the scraper loading ability test is to determine the amounts of specified material that can be loaded with specified times and to express the data as a load-growth curve. The amount loaded is measured in kilograms and should be converted to volume by means of unit mass for reporting purposes.

Component Nomenclature--Construction Two- and Four-Wheel Tractors

1975-08-01
HISTORICAL
J869A_197508
This SAE Standard provides names of major components peculiar to tractors used with scrapers and dumpers. (See Figures 1 to 3.) Reference SAE J1057. Illustrations of components are not intended to be exactly descriptive of any particular machine.

Capacity Rating--Scraper, Open Bowl

1975-06-01
HISTORICAL
J741B_197506
This SAE Standard specifies a procedure for approximating the volume of typical materials contained in the bowl of Open Bowl scrapers as defined in SAE J728 and SAE J1057. The volumes are based on the inside dimensions of the bowl and representative volumes on top of the bowl. This rating method is intended to provide a consistent means of comparing capacities; it is not intended to define actual capacities that might be observed in any specific application.

Capacity Rating--Loader Bucket

1975-06-01
HISTORICAL
J742B_197506
This standard applies to buckets of loaders (as defined by SAE J1057a, Identification Terminology of Earthmoving Machines). This method applies primarily to buckets having parallel sides and a cutting edge parallel to the top edge of the top edge of the back sheet. Moderately clipped back sheet corners will introduce no appreciable errors. Bucket teeth, tooth adapters, as well as other similar local discontinuities are ignored. a. Interpretation of irregular shaped cutting edges is identified in 4.4. b. Interpretation of irregular shaped side sheets is identified in 4.5.

Capacity Rating--Elevating Scrapers

1975-06-01
HISTORICAL
J957_197506
This SAE Standard specifies a procedure for approximating the volume of a typical material carried in the bowl of an elevating scraper as defined in SAE J728 and SAE J1057. The volumes are based on the inside dimensions of the bowl and a representative volume on top of the bowl. This rating method is intended to provide a consistent means of comparing capacities; it is not intended to define actual capacities that might be observed in any specific application.
