This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) provides the general performance, design, installation, test, development, and quality assurance requirements for the flight control related functions of the Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) of military piloted aircraft. It also provides specification guidance for the flight control interfaces with other systems and subsystems of the aircraft.
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is a guide for defining the requirements for aerospace piston hydraulic accumulators, including details pertinent to the design, fabrication, performance and testing of the accumulator. This type of accumulator contains a piston which separates pressurized gas and fluid.
This procurement specification covers split cotter pins with optional ends (see Figure 1), made from a corrosion resistant steel of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS S30200.
This specification covers tubular-shaped pins, fabricated from carbon steel, having a full-length longitudinal slot to permit flexure when inserted into a hole.
This specification covers a corrosion- and heat-resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings, mechanical tubing, flash-welded rings, and stock for forging or flash-welded rings.
This procurement specification covers tubular-shaped, coiled spring pins made of a corrosion resistant nickel base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS N07718.
This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of extruded bars, rods, wire, shapes, and tubing 5.000 inches (127.00 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least thickness (wall thickness of tubing) (see 8.5).
Current: This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides design and test requirements for high pressure, factory pre-charged, welded bellows hydraulic accumulators. Only proposed change to scope is to change "pre-charged" to "precharged" to align with ARP4386. "Precharge" is one word and non-hyphenated in ARP4386.
