New and Newly Retreaded Tire Appearance

2019-07-02
CURRENT
ARP6307A
This document is for establishing and addressing anomalies on appearance of new and newly retreaded tires prior to installation on aircraft. It is intended to use cosmetics as well as functionality to make a determination of acceptability. However, if cosmetic appearance is not a requirement, use the inspection criteria from ARP6225, Aircraft Tire Removal Criteria. This ARP does not supersede (E)TSO-C62 minimum requirements, including marking requirements.

Oil, Reference, for "L" Stock Rubber Testing

2019-06-13
WIP
AMS3020B
This specification covers a petroleum-base reference oil. This fluid has been typically used as a reference oil to estimate the ability of elastomeric compounds to conform to specified requirements after immersion at a specified temperature for a specified time and temperature as required by the material.

Cable, Power, Electrical, Portable General Specification For

2019-06-07
CURRENT
AS5756B
This specification covers 600 V heavy duty, portable, power, single and multiconductor, electrical cable for severe flexing service (see detail specifications for voltage limitations). The AS5756 insulation system has been used in aerospace ground power applications using 115/200 V (phase to neutral) at 400 Hz AC. Verification of the suitability of this product for use in other electrical system configurations (600 V, etc.) is the responsibility of the user.

Aerospace Series - Quality Management Systems - Nonconformity Data Definition and Documentation

2019-05-31
CURRENT
AS9131D
This standard defines the common nonconformity data definition and documentation that shall be exchanged between an internal/external supplier or sub-tier supplier, and the customer when informing about a nonconformity requiring formal decision. The requirements are applicable, partly or totally, when reporting a product nonconformity to the owner or operator, as user of the end item (e.g., engine, aircraft, spacecraft, helicopter), if specified by contract. Reporting of nonconformity data, either electronically or conventionally on paper, is subject to the terms and conditions of the contract. This also includes, where applicable, data access under export control regulations.

Rubber, Silicone 1200 Psi (8.27 Mpa), High Modulus 45-55

2019-05-10
WIP
AMS3347D
This specification covers a silicone rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions and molded shapes. Primarily for parts required to operate or seal from -75 to +205 degrees C (-103 to +401 degrees F), compounded especially for high strength. Silicone elastomer is resistant to deterioration by weathering and by high-aniline-point-petroleum-base oils and remains flexible over the temperature range noted. These products are not normally suitable for use in contact with gasoline or aromatic fuels and low-aniline-point petroleum-base fluids due to excessive swelling.

Surface Treatment of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), Preparation for Bonding

2019-05-10
WIP
AMS2491G
This specification covers the engineering requirements for preparing surfaces of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) for bonding and the properties resulting from the treatment. This process has been used typically for rendering surfaces of parts capable of supporting a high strength adhesive bond. The bonding preparation can affect the electrical properties of the PTFE and this should be considered before using it for treatment of electronic components.

Silicone Rubber, 1000 Psi (6.89 Mpa) Minimum Tensile Strength, 55-65 Durometer

2019-05-07
WIP
AMS3346H
This specification covers a silicone rubber material that can be used to manufacture product in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, molded shapes, and extrusions. This specification should not be used to address products such as O-rings, compression seals, O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets.

Importance of Physical and Chemical Properties of Aircraft Hydraulic Fluids

2019-04-22
WIP
AIR81E
This document discusses the relative merits of the physical and chemical properties of hydraulic fluids in relation to the aerospace hydraulic system design, and the related materials compatibility. The discussion in this report applies both to hydrocarbon and phosphate ester based aircraft hydraulic fluids. In some cases, numerical limits are suggested, but, in general, the significance and effect of a property is noted qualitatively.

Material Handler Nomenclature and Specifications

2019-04-15
CURRENT
J2506_201904
This SAE Standard establishes terminology and the content of commercial literature specifications for self-propelled crawler and wheeled material handlers, pedestal mounted material handlers and their equipment as defined in 3.1. Illustrations used here are not intended to include all existing commercial machines or to be exactly descriptive of any particular machine. They have been provided to describe the principles to be used in applying this document. (Material handlers share many design characteristics with hydraulic excavators and log loaders; primarily 360 degree continuous rotation of the upperstructure relative to the undercarriage or mounting. They differ in their operating application. Material handlers are used for the handling of scrap material and normally utilize grapples or magnets. Hydraulic excavators are used for the excavation of earth, gravel and other loose material utilizing a bucket.

Lift Capacity Calculation Method Scrap and Material Handlers

2019-04-15
CURRENT
J2518_201904
This SAE Standard provides a uniform method to calculate the lift capacity of scrap and material handlers, establishes definitions and specifies machine conditions for the calculations. This document applies to scrap and material handlers as defined in SAE J2506 that have a 360 degrees continuous rotating upper structure. It does not apply to equipment that is incapable of lifting a load completely off the ground. This document applies to those machines that are crawler, wheel, rail and pedestal or stationary mounted.
