Navigating Requirements for International Certification of Aviation Products

2020-11-19
This course describes the basic elements of the process for achieving a successful aircraft certification globally once certification by the State of Design has been accomplished. The regulatory framework established under ICAO is presented with discussion of how major countries around the world comply with the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs). The uncertainty of how each country performs validation is a challenge. This course identifies common validation practices and key bilateral agreements which facilitate acceptance of aviation products from one country to another.

High Voltage Vehicle Safety Systems and PPE

2020-11-16
High voltage vehicle safety is a primary concern for every technician or engineer involved in developing, diagnosing or repairing hybrid or electric vehicles. Engineers/technicians working in this field should complete safety training before they interface with hybrid, plug-in or electric vehicles.

Design and Evaluation of Automotive Static Perceptual Quality

2020-11-06
Static perceptual quality is the term applied to the customer’s first impression of a car at the beginning of the buying process including how it looks, feels, and smells.  This “first feeling” largely determines whether the customer continues through  the purchase process. At present, OEMs have no systematic method for static perceptual quality in the whole vehicle design and development process, especially for the static perceptual quality review in the early stage of design and development before data freezing. Usually, it can only be evaluated after the vehicle is produced and assembled.

Side Impact Occupant Safety and CAE

2020-11-04
Side impact crashes account for approximately twenty-six percent of all motor vehicle fatal crashes, second only to frontal crashes, according to a report by the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA). While car companies and suppliers continue to develop new technologies that make vehicles safer, NHTSA rolled out updated safety regulations (FMVSS 214) based on new research studies, making vehicle safety design more and more complex. This seminar is designed to familiarize participants with the engineering principles behind vehicle and restraint designs for occupant safety.

AS13004 Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans

2020-11-04
In the Aerospace Industry there is a growing focus on Defect Prevention to ensure that quality goals are met. Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities described in AS13004 are recognized as being one of the most effective, on the journey to Zero Defects. This two-day course is designed to explain the core tools of Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans as described in AS13004. It will show the links to other quality tools such as Design FMEA, Characteristics Matrix and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
