MOLD IN COLOR DIAMOND WHITE ASA MATERIAL FOR AUTOMOTIVE EXTERIOR APPLICATION

In this paper, mold in color diamond white ASA material has been explored for front bumper grill, fender arch extension and hinge cover applications. Other than aesthetic requirements, these parts have precise fitment requirement under sun load condition in real world usage profile. Structural durability of the design was validated by virtual engineering. Part design and material combinations with better tooling design iterations were analysed by using mold flow analysis. Complete product performances were validated for predefined key test metrics such as structural durability, thermal aging, cold impact, scratch resistance, and weathering criteria. This part met required specification. This mold in color ASA material-based parts has various benefits such as environmentally friendly manufacturing by eliminating environmental issues of coating, easily recycled, and faster part production because intended color achieved in one step during molding.

This aging is dependant on various factors like charging/discharging rates, DOD of operation and operating temperature. As the cell ages it undergoes power fade (ability to deliver required power at particular State of Charge [SOC]) and capacity fade (the charge storage capacity of cell). In an Electric Vehicle it is important to know what power shall be demanded from a battery irrespective of what its current SOC is and number of cycles it has undergone. With minimal accuracy and less computational power, it is difficult for a Battery Management System [BMS] to accurately determine SOH; the paper proposes a a precise model that may help.

Bus passenger safety has always been a concern considering various impacts like side impact, front impact, rollover etc. happening in real life scenarios. Various standards have been formulated for simulating these conditions and with respect to rollover, standards like ECE-R66 are being used to understand the superstructure strength. In India, we have AIS-052 (bus body code) and AIS-031 specific for bus rollover testing. AIS-119 has been published for rollover testing of sleeper coaches with modifications in the survival space creation in sleeper coaches for berths. With physical testing being more expensive, CAE simulations are being considered as vital option which also helps in design modification in a lesser time. This paper discusses the scope of numerical simulation of sleeper coach rollover using an explicit dynamic solver RADIOSS to understand the structure deformations, survival space clearances/intrusions.

In autonomous vehicle world human safety takes highest priority. And most researchers agree that machines won't be able to completely take over driving duties for years or even decades. "Today's autonomous vehicles can drive relatively well in typical settings, but they fail in exceptional situations - and it's those situations that are the most dangerous," said Walter Lasecki, an assistant professor of computer science and engineering. "Designing autonomous systems that can handle those exceptional situations could take decades, and in the meantime, we're going to need something to fill the gap. Few companies have introduced human safety drivers in autonomous vehicles which has cost advantage compared to traditional ride sharing services. Combining human and artificial intelligence in autonomous vehicles could push driverless cars more quickly toward wide - scale adoption.

Most recent or all developments in the field of small UAV’s seem to use Quadcopters. It’s a valued commenting that a quadcopter is a smaller amount stable than a similar regular chopper and is additionally less economical. A Quadcopter UAV’s with four propellers is always a major concern to the society when brings to its stability as its major factor. To design and analyze the use of one propeller monocopter is the main objective of this paper. Wacky Whirler technology used here to demonstrate the passage of the monocopter. It is a single propeller powered with a coreless motor which is a modern enhancement in the UAV. It is based on the All Rotating monocopter theory. In the proposed system, controller based on IOT can be used which will be helpful in monitoring and processing the microdrone status.

The positioning of the sensors on vehicle will play a critical role in autonomous cars, it improves the performance of overall system by all the means and make it cost effective by reducing a total system cost. This paper contributes in deciding the best position of camera location on the vehicle with complete geometric and system calculation based on the maximum speed of vehicle, hardware processing speed, camera parameters, actuation and control time, Blind spot detections, maximum Height of objects, etc. The paper presents the technologies and datasets used for lane lines and other object detections. It focusses on newly proposed technique and its calculations to decide the best location of monocular camera sensor on the vehicle by considering all other parameters of autonomous vehicle system. It enhances the performance of overall system as well as reduces the system cost which takes us closer to the futuristic dream of efficient and low-cost autonomous vehicle.

The hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicle range, it means the total distance covered by the vehicle in a single filling of hydrogen into the onboard cylinders.

In this paper we propose the snow mobility vehicle in order increase the mobility and decrease the risk of accidents for carry food and medicines on snow bounded areas using unmanned tracked vehicle called as snowmobii 2.0. Our unmanned tracked vehicle can transport Food/medicines as well as Defence in snow bounded areas. This unmanned robot can run in loose as well as hard snow due to it have specific featured technology in base wheel(track wheel system) such as hub with outer seals that improve its durability. The proposed snow mobility vehicle is consist of many sophisticated-designed systems such as navigation system, obstacle detection system, communication system, temperature sensing system. Snowmobii 2.0 is easy to get command and enable significant reduction in losses of many solder’s precious lives due to unavailability of food and medicines at that place.

Last decade has been era of environmental awareness. Various programs have launched for making devices and appliances eco-friendly. This initiative has lead automobile industry toward hybridization and now total electrification of vehicles. Electric motor produce high frequency vibration along with high torque. Hence it needs to be isolated properly & carefully as these vibrations can damage other automobile parts. Dynamic response of electric motor is different from response of IC engines, so use of engine mounting design method is not suitable for designing mounting system for electric motor mounting system. In design of electric motor mounting, position and orientation of elastomeric mounts plays important role. Mounts used in passive vibration isolation are made up of elastomeric material which are stiff and resilient in nature.

An analysis of the Fuel Cell Pack with different Drive cycles Abstract: In the view of the Environmental friendly future, every automotive manufacturer is making a move towards electric mobility. Zero emission can be achieved with the help of electric vehicles. However, there are some limitations too. Battery electric vehicle (BEV) gives a limited range in the vehicles and even their market penetration is difficult because of their energy storage capability. A fuel cell unit can be added to the system, which increases the range and the energy capacity of the system. Hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) system is faster to refill compared to plugin charging in the Battery electric vehicle (BEV). This study deals with the behavioural analysis of the Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) Fuel cell based on the different drive cycles. Fuel cell model has been developed and simulated in the SIMULINK environment. Simulation results were obtained for the different drive cycles.

Furthermore, the efficiency increase in the Shock absorber within the vehicle have high demands to use of regenerative solutions, in which e-system can be employed as to recover part of the energy otherwise dissipated in form of heat. The Smart e-Shock can charge battery and illuminate accessories of vehicle. Also, the e-shock can provide the various damping characteristics by changing the Electric load on to it to make system as Semi-Active Suspension. This Smart e-Shock system is based on unique and patented concept of constraining the reciprocating motion of the shock absorber in to a single sense of rotation of e-system and the energy is recuperated and given to the battery from the e-system.

However due to high voltages and complex power electronics design, it often becomes difficult to deal with EMC related non-compliances. ICAT being largely experienced in the EMC testing and validation of E-buses, would like to present the various EMC challenges and the solutions related to E-buses. In this paper we would share three case studies where the EMC issues related to E-buses were mitigated by either introducing simple changes to the existing design or through large/small modification.
