Guidelines for Characterization of Gas Turbine Engine Total-Pressure, Planar-Wave, and Total-Temperature Inlet-Flow Distortion

2024-04-02
WIP
ARP6420A
The turbine-engine-inlet flow distortion descriptors summarized in this document apply to the effects of inlet total-pressure, planar-wave, and total-temperature distortions. Guidelines on stability margin, destabilizing influences, types and purposes of inlet data, AIP definition, and data acquisition and handling are summarized from AIR5866, AIR5867, ARP1420, and AIR1419. The degree to which these recommendations are applied to a specific program should be consistent with the complexity of the inlet/engine integration. Total-pressure distortion is often the predominant destabilizing element that is encountered and is often the only type of distortion to be considered, i.e, not all types of distortion need to be considered for all vehicles.

Minimum Requirements for Road Geometry and Attributes Definition

2024-04-01
CURRENT
J2945/A_202404
This report specifies the minimum requirements for the Road Geometry and Attributes (RGA) data set (DS) to support road geometry related motor vehicle safety applications. Contained in this report are a concept of operations, requirements, and design, developed using a detailed systems engineering process. Utilizing the requirements, the RGA DS is defined, which includes the DS Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN.1) format, data frames, and data element definitions. The requirements are intended to enable the exchange of the messages and their DS information to provide the desired interoperability and data integrity to support the applications considered within this report, as well as other applications which may be able to utilize the DS information. System requirements beyond this are outside the scope of this report.

Digital Annex of Diagnostic Trouble Code Definitions and Failure Type Byte Definitions

2024-03-06
CURRENT
J2012DA_202403
The J2012 Digital Annex of Diagnostic Trouble Code Definitions Spreadsheet provides DTC information in an excel format for use in your organization's work processes. The column headings include the same information as contained in the J2012 standard. Information in the excel spreadsheet will be updated several times annually and the spreadsheet includes a column heading denoting which DTCs have been updated in the current version.

Aerospace Vehicle Wiring, Lessons Learned

2024-03-04
CURRENT
AIR6808A
This AIR is limited to the requirements of AS50881 and examines these requirements, providing rationale behind them. AS50881 is only applicable to the aircraft EWIS. Pods and other devices that can be attached to an aircraft are considered as part of the aircraft equipment design. Its scope does not include wiring inside of airborne electronic equipment but does apply to wiring externally attached to such equipment. The AS50881 scope does not include attached devices but does include the interface between the pod/equipment and aircraft wiring. Section 3.3.5 addresses components such as antennas and other similar equipment that were once supplied as Government Furnished Aeronautical/Aerospace Equipment (GFAE).

Configuration Management Acquisition Requirements for Aeronautics and Space

2024-03-01
CURRENT
EIA649-2A
This standard applies to all products and services produced for Aeronautics and Space enterprises and regulatory environments, including those produced by component facilities and technical and service support centers. If applied, this standard must be cited in the CM requirements of Enterprise Planning, Facilities Programs, Projects, and Supplier agreements. This standard applies throughout all phases of the program and project life cycle. CM is about the truth, trust, and traceability of products, data used to produce products, and processes throughout their life cycle and should be applied across the Enterprise at the process and product level. The significant data to which CM is applied includes scientific and engineering data; data that drives mission success; data that ensures IT security; and data used to make technical, programmatic, and business decisions. Proper application of CM is essential for product integrity and overall effectiveness.

WIP
AMS7069
This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel alloy in the form of parts produced by laser-powder bed fusion (L-PBF) that are subjected to post-deposition hot isostatic press (HIP), solution and precipitation heat treated (H1025) condition. The application is for parts typically requiring corrosion resistance and high strength up to 600 °F (316 °C) with good ductility and strength, but usage is not limited to such applications.

Unmanned Systems (UxS) Control Segment (UCS) Architecture: RSA Version of UCS ICD Model

2024-02-23
CURRENT
AIR6516A
This User Guide describes the content of the Rational Software Architect (RSA) version of the UCS Architectural Model and how to use this model within the RSA modeling tool environment. The purpose of the RSA version of the UCS Architectural Interface ICD model is to provide a model for Rational Software Architect (RSA) users, derived from the Enterprise Architect (EA) ICD model (AIR6515). The AIR6515 EA Model, and by derivation, the AIR6516 RSA Model, have been validated to contain the same content as the AS6518 model for: all UCS ICD interfaces all UCS ICD messages all UCS ICD data directly or indirectly referenced by ICD messages and interfaces the Domain Participant, Information, Service and Non-Functional Properties Models

Machine Qualification for Fusion-Based Metal Additive Manufacturing

2024-02-16
WIP
AMS7032A
This standard has notes/guidance narratives interspersed throughout. These notes/guidance narratives are identified by a header and by text in italics. This standard defines a series of requirements that results in a specific AM machine qualified to produce material (see GN1) in compliance to an aerospace materials specification. The machine control and/or configuration types are discussed in the next sections.

Reduced Effort Power Steering Modifications and Backup Systems (Hydraulic and/or Electric)

2024-02-06
CURRENT
J2672_202402
This SAE Information Report relates to a special class of automotive adaptive equipment which consists of modifications to the power steering system provided as original equipment on personally licensed vehicles. These modifications are generically called “modified effort steering” or “reduced effort power steering.” The purpose of the modification is to alter the amount of driver effort required to steer the vehicle. Retention of reliability, ease of use for physically disabled drivers and maintainability are of primary concern. As an Information Report, the numerical values for performance measurements presented in this report and in the test procedure in the appendices, while based upon the best knowledge available at the time, have not been validated.
