Vehicle cybersecurity vulnerabilities could impact a vehicle's safe operation. Therefore, engineers should ensure that systems are designed free of unreasonable risks to motor vehicle safety, including those that may result due to existence of potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities. The automotive industry is making vehicle cybersecurity an organizational priority.
SAE J3061 sets out a recommended cybersecurity engineering process framework for organizations developing cyber physical systems. One of the recommendations of this framework is to carry out a threat analysis and risk assessment early in the product development. A threat analysis identifies and models the relevant threats against assets, and a risk assessment classifies the impact and likelihood associated with each threat. The approach enables the prioritization of risks and appropriate risk treatment measures to be determined in subsequent development phases.
Most recent or all developments in the field of small UAV’s seem to use Quadcopters. It’s a valued commenting that a quadcopter is a smaller amount stable than a similar regular chopper and is additionally less economical. A Quadcopter UAV’s with four propellers is always a major concern to the society when brings to its stability as its major factor. To design and analyze the use of one propeller monocopter is the main objective of this paper. Wacky Whirler technology used here to demonstrate the passage of the monocopter. It is a single propeller powered with a coreless motor which is a modern enhancement in the UAV. It is based on the All Rotating monocopter theory. In the proposed system, controller based on IOT can be used which will be helpful in monitoring and processing the microdrone status.

Testing these machineries in real-time while performing activities in the field allows a bigger picture to be seen; the performance data incorporates the effects of many external factors (Soil, Climate etc.). Tractor Performance data apprehending is the vital part of validation. Data acquisition of key performance parameters during field validation in different application/different countries is of utmost importance.
These days backhoe loader have become main part of construction equipment vehicles. The main function of backhoe is to dig ditches to lay pipes and underground cable, set up foundations for buildings and create drainage systems. During these operations, many failures are observed in backhoe loader structure/parts. With the help of Accelerated structural durability testing, life of backhoe loader & its part can be estimated; through which we can understand different failure modes. The real time data was collected during various operations which includes pit digging, duck walk, ditch climbing, levelling, dozing, piling, truck loading etc. We have used software based approach to process the strain, displacement and other data collected during real time operation to create the duty cycle. The same duty cycle was simulated in the lab condition using servo hydraulic actuators.
As we transition towards Internet of Things (IoT) - humans are connected to each other & outside world through the smartphone. Customers tend to use smartphones for varied purposes ranging from communication to entertainment. However, the concern of distraction exists due to poor visibility & accessibility of the phone's screen in driving condition. One of the repercussion of being connected to smartphone particularly in driving condition includes higher number of road accidents due to distraction. This paper explains one of the key initiatives taken by Maruti Suzuki India Limited to address the same.
In a connected vehicle environment, the engine drive cycles operate in synchronized and regulated manner. This requires smooth transitions for improved CO_2 footprint. To arrive at this, there is need for intelligent and faster airpath control at transients. Authors aim to model and control every actuator of a coupled system in a synchronized manner with faster dynamic response. The turbocharger control is vital and forms heart of the system; This demands accurate position prediction of VTG. Deriving a control law for turbocharger is challenging due to the hybridized nature of turbocharger models in engine management system. It becomes extremely critical to estimate accurately, the position of VTG without introduction of any sensing devices. The control engineer always need to solve the trade-off between the controller performance KPI’s – rise time, transient response, controllability, observability and capability – stability and dynamics response etc.

Complexity is acquainted when more than 100 vehicles with different horse power (hp) & with different product configuration working across India and other parts of countries. Traditionally, a tractor validation involves data collection such as usage hours (Hour meter reading on cluster), locations etc. which are recorded in spread sheet and updated to the respective project owners on daily basis through mail communications. A manual recording and consolidation of tractors validation status is prone to error, reiterative work, consumes more resource and effort.
Digital Twins for Prognostic Profiling Authors: Sreeram Mohan*, Painuri Thukaram**, Panduranga Rao*** Objective / Question: Ability to have least failures in products on the field with minimum effort from the manufacturers is a major area of focus driven by Industry 4.0 initiatives. Amidst traditional methods of performing system / subsystem level tests often does not enable the complete coverage of a machine health performance predictions. This paper highlights a workable workflow that could be used as a template while considering system design especially employing Digital Twins that help in mimicking real-life scenarios early in the design cycle to increase product’s reliability as well as tend to near zero defects. Methodology: With currently available disruptive technologies , systems are integrated multi-domain 'mechatronics' systems operating in closed-loop/close-interaction.
OBJECTIVE Race vehicles are designed to achieve higher lateral acceleration arising at cornering conditions. A focused study on the steady state handling of the car is essential for the analysis of such conditions. The transient response analysis of the car is also equally important to achieve best driver-car relationship and to quantify handling in the range suitable for a racing car. This research aims to investigate the design parameters responsible for the transient characteristics and optimize those design parameters. This research work examines the time-based analysis of the problem to truly capture the non-linear dynamics. Apart from tires, chassis can be tuned to optimize vehicle handling and hence the response times. METHODOLOGY To start with, the system is modelled with governing parameters and simulation is carried out to set baseline configurations. Steady state and transient handling simulations run independent of each other with independent logic, coded on MATLAB.
The present work involves Machine Learning (ML) based Multi-objective Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MMDO) for lightweighting the automotive structures. The challenge in deployment of MMDO algorithms in solving real-world automotive structural design problems is the enormous time involved in solving full vehicle finite element models that involve large number of design variables and multiple performance constraints pertaining to vehicle dynamics, durability, crash and NVH domains. With the availability of powerful workstations and using the advanced Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, it has become possible to generate huge sets of simulation data pertaining to multiple domains.
The application in ride and handling development has been mostly subjective or intuitive. Suspension settings are based on the opinions of experts. The product of this research will enable to quantify the performance of a suspension in terms of its ability to minimize the transmission of road irregularities to the chassis and achieve good mechanical grip with the road surface. This work presents a dynamical analysis of the transmissibility of an off-road vehicle suspension, developed in VIT Vellore for Baja SAE India competition. A baseline spring rates curve for ride is developed to provide a solid foundation to tune from. The shock absorbers used for testing are Fox Float Evol R air shock absorbers with progressive damping. A thorough data acquisition of the force curves for shocks from a test rig is done. A detailed characteristic of the air shocks is obtained at various loading conditions. The basic damping curve is modified towards the desired ideal nature with the data obtained.
Abstract The electrification of conventional internal combustion engine vehicle is a need of today’s advanced world to reduce the dependency of the transportation sector on the oil and gases. It can be achieved by replacing the engine by an electric motor which is powerful enough to provide required torque. The important requirement for a vehicle to drive in the hilly region with steep corners is proper torque distribution on each wheel which is taken care by the differential system. When the friction between road and wheels are different from left to right, then the wheel with low friction contact will lose its traction on the road. These situations are unfavorable for driving a vehicle on off-road and extrema conditions like driving in muddy roads or on the ice. These problems can be overcome by providing individual power supply system to separate wheels.

Besides rising incomes and growing infrastructure in all areas, one big reason for the spurt in sales has been ease of zipping in and out of chaotic city traffic along with road irregularities and potholes. Furthermore, the efficiency increase in the Shock absorber within the vehicle have high demands to use of regenerative solutions, in which e-system can be employed as to recover part of the energy otherwise dissipated in form of heat. The Smart e-Shock can charge battery and illuminate accessories of vehicle. Also, the e-shock can provide the various damping characteristics by changing the Electric load on to it to make system as Semi-Active Suspension. This Smart e-Shock system is based on unique and patented concept of constraining the reciprocating motion of the shock absorber in to a single sense of rotation of e-system and the energy is recuperated and given to the battery from the e-system.
