VHF DIGITAL LINK (VDL) MODE 2 IMPLEMENTATION PROVISIONS

2020-07-15
CURRENT
ARINC631-8
This document describes the functions to be performed by airborne and ground components of the VDLM2 to successfully transfer messages from VHF ground networks to avionics systems on aircraft and vice versa where the data are encoded in a code and byte independent format. The compatibility of VDLM2 with OSI is established by defining a set of services and protocols that are in accordance with the OSI basic reference model. The compatibility with the ATN protocols is achieved by defining a set of interfaces between the VDLM2 subnetwork protocol specification and the Mobile Subnetwork Dependent Convergence Function (MSNDCF). The SNDCF is defined in the ICAO ATN SARPs.

EMBEDDED INTERCHANGE FORMAT FOR AIRPORT MAPPING DATABASE

2016-08-31
CURRENT
ARINC816-2C1
This document defines an open encoding format for airport databases which are loaded in airborne systems. This format, when designed and implemented, will enable a quick, economic, and efficient use of AMDB. However, since industry does not require applications to be standardized, data interpretation is not addressed in this document.

FLIGHT RECORDER ELECTRONIC DOCUMENTATION (FRED)

2009-07-01
CURRENT
ARINC647A-ER1
This specification is an international standard defining the content and format of electronic files which document Flight Data Recording systems. The FRED specification is an expansion of the Flight Recorder Configuration Standard (FRCS) and is intended to provide guidelines for software systems designers and developers of ground support equipment for flight data recorders. The FRED specification has been developed to facilitate the exchange of Flight Data Recorder (FDR) documentation between aircraft manufacturers, operators, and government agencies. This specification addresses the ARINC Specification 664: Part 7, Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet in numerous sections.
