Runway Liquid Anti-icing / Deicing Spreaders

2017-08-02
WIP
ARP5559
This Aerospace Recommended Practice covers various requirements for Airport runway deicers, to be used with various carrier vehicles primarily used to treat the runway surface with an even coating of deicer fluids. It does not apply to non-airport snow and ice removal equipment such as highway plows or construction/farm machinery.

Moment Weighing Systems – Single-Axis for Gas Turbine Blade Moment Weight Measurement

2016-11-28
WIP
ARP6914
The scope of these standards will relate to single-axis moment scales only. Topics covered include dimensional characteristics of single-axis moment scale interfaces, general tooling requirements, scale and tooling accuracy, and display instrument accuracy requirements. Additionally, general guidelines for qualification of equipment and tooling are included, as are general requirements for single-axis blade distribution software.

Glycol Recovery Vehicle (GRV) – Self-Propelled

2017-06-12
WIP
ARP6954
This SAE Aerospace Resource Document (ARD) document covers the requirements for a self-propelled GRV, intended for use at airports to collect spent aircraft de-icing fluid (ADF) from the surface of de-icing areas. This unit will recover de-icing fluid from the surface, which will be stored in a containment unit on the vehicle. The GRV must be capable of night and day operations in all weather conditions, as required.

Recommended Maintenance, Inspection and Monitoring Procedure for Engine Test Cells

2018-12-20
WIP
ARP8540
A guide to maintenance procedures in test cells. A suggested equipment monitoring and/or inspections to reduce the probability of unanticipated failures and associated test cell down time. Guidelines for using typically available data acquisition capabilities in a test cell are provided to utilize normally available trending capability to monitor the testing equipment in addition to using these tools for the usual monitoring of the test article. For the common types of test cells (turboshaft, turboprop, turbojet, and turbofan) test facilities, lists of typical systems with their associated components are provided with suggested inspection intervals and key items to look for in the inspection. A template risk assessment form is provided to facilitate the customization of the assessment of the test cell components to help predict recommended spares.

Snow Compressor

2017-07-28
WIP
ARP8000
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) document covers the requirements for a Snowcompressor with carrier vehicle used to clear snow from airport operational areas by compressing the volume of collected snow into smaller volumes for loading into a hauling/dump truck or for depositing reduced-volume windrows for snow banking. The term carrier vehicle represents the various self-propelled prime movers that provide the power necessary to move snow and ice control equipment during winter operations. For two-stage rotary plows that primarily are used to cast heavy concentrations of snow away from airport operational areas such as runways and taxiways, see ARP5539.

Vertical Dynamic Balancing Systems – Isolating Repeatability Issues in Challenging Applications

2021-05-26
WIP
ARP8911
This new Aerospace Recommended Practice will serve as a practical resource that offers guidance to both the machine operator and Process Engineer for isolating the source(s) of non-repeatability in measured unbalance data. The content of this standard addresses: • Vertical Dynamic Machine Capability to achieve the specified unbalance tolerances and repeat within those tolerances • Tooling Capability to repeat within the specified unbalance tolerances • Rotor characteristics that may preclude repeating within the required unbalance tolerances.

CDIF - Transfer Format Encoding - ENCODING.1

CURRENT
EIAIS110
The CDIF Family of Standards is primarily designed to be used as a description of a mechanism for transferring information between CASE tools. It facilitates a successful transfer when the authors of the importing and exporting tools have nothing in common except an agreement to conform to CDIF. The language that is defined for the Transfer Format also has applicability as a general language for Import/Export from repositories. The CDIF Integrated Meta-model defined for CASE also has applicability as the basis of standard definitions for use in repositories. The standards which form the complete family of CDIF Standards are documented in EIA/IS-106 CDIF - CASE Data Interchange Format - Overview. These standards cover the overall framework, the transfer format and the CDIF Integrated Meta-model. The diagram in Figure 1 depicts the various standards that comprise the CDIF Family of Standards. The shaded box depicts this Standard and its position in the CDIF Family of Standards.

This standard applies to the interconnection of data terminal equipment and numerical control equipment at the tape reader interface. The data terminal would typically be connected to a remote data source/sink such as a computer. This standard defines: This standard is applicable for the interchange of signals when used in conjunction with electronic equipment, each interchange circuit of which has a single return (signal ground) that can be interconnected at the interface point. Figure 1.1, typical installation, shows how this standard should be applied to a typical tape reader interface of numerical control equipment.
