This document contains guidance for designers, specifiers, regulatory personnel, purchasers, managers, and others who specify or use optical simulations of aircraft lights. All aircraft lighting will be considered interior, flight deck, and exterior lighting. Guidance on standard methods of analysis and presentation of data will be provided. Although this document concentrates on lighting, many of the principles covered will be helpful in other types of optical simulation, such as for displays, non-visible radiation, etc.

The CDIF Family of Standards is primarily designed to be used as a description of a mechanism for transferring information between CASE tools. It facilitates a successful transfer when the authors of the importing and exporting tools have nothing in common except an agreement to conform to CDIF. The language that is defined for the Transfer Format also has applicability as a general language for Import/Export from repositories. The CDIF Integrated Meta-model defined for CASE also has applicability as the basis of standard definitions for use in repositories. The standards that form the complete family of CDIF Standards are documented in EIA/IS-106 CDIF - CASE Data Interchange Format - Overview. These standards cover the overall framework, the transfer format and the CDIF Integrated Meta-model. The diagram in Figure 1 depicts the various standards that comprise the CDIF Family of Standards. The shaded box depicts this Standard and its position in the CDIF Family of Standards.

This SAE Information Report describes results of testing of the SAE J1746 ISP-Vehicle Standard for the communication of spatial data references between central sites and mobile vehicles on roads. Testing was performed by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and its contractors, resulting in a document from which this Information Report has been extracted. Tests were performed by computer analysis and corroborated by field tests with a mobile vehicle.

This document specifies the CLARA interfaces of the CLAR Truth Data Generator as shown in Figure 1. The solid bold arrows are defined in Table 1 and Table 2. The dashed arrows from the CLAR Coefficient Generator and Truth Database to the CLAR Data Space Generator indicate a feedback loop and are defined in the CLAR Data Space Generator ICD (Reference 1). The dashed arrow from the Truth Database to the CLAR Coefficient Generator is defined in the CLAR Coefficient Generator ICD (Reference 2). The objective for the CLAR Truth Data Generator is to produce impact data sets to be used in the CLAR Coefficient Generator first to score and form LAR boundaries, and then to generate coefficients. A model of the weapon system that predicts weapon delivery performance to a predefined accuracy is to be used for this purpose. The model can be the Six-Degree-Of-Freedom (6DOF) equations of motion or another mathematical representation that meets the objective for the weapon system LAR.

This report proposes a methodology for applying weighting factors to system effectiveness quantification expressions of mathematical models for multi-function situations. Since the circumstances for applying "W" and "U" terms are almost unlimited, no attempt is made to show all possible applications of these terms. Rather, the basic principles are discussed and illustrated by simple examples in order to keep the focus on the principles for quantifying "W" and "U". The methods that are used at lower levels of the mission-function hierarchical tree are equally valid at higher levels. Consequently, the extension of these basic methods to more complicated situations was deliberately excluded from the content of this report.

This report revises ARD50015 document to the AIR format. This report, as was the original, is intended to complement ARP1420C and AIR1419C documents issued by the SAE S-16 Committee on spatial total-pressure distortion. These previous documents addressed only total-pressure distortion and excluded total temperature distortion. The subject of inlet total temperature distortion is addressed in this report with some background and identification of the problem area. The status of past efforts is reviewed, and an attempt is made to define where we are today. Deficiencies, voids, and limitations in knowledge and test techniques for total temperature distortion are identified.
