Crane Hoist Line Speed and Power Test Procedure

2017-06-07
CURRENT
J820_201706
This document applies primarily to mobile cranes that lift loads by means of a drum and hoist line mechanism. It can be used to determine the hoist line speed and power of other hoist line mechanisms, if the load can be held constant and hoist line travel distance is sufficient for the accuracy of the line speed measurements prescribed. This recommended practice applies to all mechanical, hydraulic, and electric powered hoist mechanisms.

CAESAR® Final Report - CD-ROM

2002-11-18
The CAESAR (Civilian American and European Surface Anthropometry Resource) research project was a landmark study that has brought us the most current data on civilian body measurements. This final report details the methodology of the study and the data gathering process. It gives detailed explanation on the survey instruments used, how the study was conducted and who was included to achieve a valid demographic sampling. The product provides a wealth of information on this large scale and statistically valid research project.

Engine Preheaters

2011-12-06
CURRENT
J226_201112
This SAE Standard describes electric immersion engine preheaters for use in the coolant jacket of heavy-duty and intermediate size diesel engines. This document gives the dimensional information on the four basic styles of engine preheaters. The tables for each style will list the wattage commonly used. Small engines that typically require less than 600 W of preheat for cold weather starting are not covered by this document. These types of engines generally have very little space available to accommodate an immersion heater of the styles presented in this document. No related ISO standards were found.

Range Extenders for Electric Vehicles Land, Water & Air 2015-2025

2014-10-01
Half the electric vehicle market value lies in larger road vehicles, notably cars, and here the legal restrictions are weaker or non-existent, and range anxiety compels most people to buy hybrids if they go electric at all. Over eight million hybrid cars will be made in 2025, each with a range extender, the additional power source that distinguishes them from pure electric cars. Add to that significant money spent on the same devices in buses, military vehicles, boats and so on and a major new market emerges. Whereas today's range extenders usually consist of little more than off- the- shelf internal combustion engines, these are rapidly being replaced by second- generation range extenders consisting of piston engines designed from scratch for fairly constant load. However, a more radical departure is the third- generation micro turbines and fuel cells that work at constant load.
