Push-On Hose and Mating Hose Fittings

2014-06-06
CURRENT
J2552_201406
SAE J2552 provides limited, dimensional and general performance requirements for low pressure, field attachable, push-on hose and their mating hose fittings. The intended application is for fluid and pneumatic power used with petroleum base hydraulic fluids, lube oils, water glycols and air, within the temperature ranges listed in Table 1. The maximum working pressure is 1.7 MPa (see Table 2). For air applications the maximum working pressure is at 0.7 MPa. Hose and hose fittings are manufactured within certain dimensions with tolerance ranges in order to provide the proper gripping and sealing. SAE J2552 hose from one manufacturer may not be compatible with SAE J2552 hose fittings supplied by another manufacturer. It is the responsibility of the fabricator to always follow the manufacturers’ instructions for proper preparation and fabrication of hose assemblies.

This document standardizes the design of connector blocks used for joining SAE J518-1/ISO 6162-1 (Code 61) flange heads with other SAE J518-1/ISO 6162-1 (Code 61) flange heads with straight, elbow, and tee geometries. The blocks specified in this document are designed to provide for very compact installations. As a result, the tap depths specified in this document do not conform to those specified in SAE J518-1/ISO 6162-1 to allow for a minimal bend radius in the elbow and tee configurations. This document specifies both inch and metric configurations

WIP
J517
This SAE Standard provides general, dimensional and performance specifications for the most common hoses used in hydraulic systems on mobile and stationary equipment. The general specifications contained in Sections 1 through 12 are applicable to all hydraulic hoses and supplement the detailed specifications for the 100R-series hoses contained in the later sections of this document (see Tables 1 and 2). This document shall be utilized as a procurement document only to the extent as agreed upon by the manufacturer and user. The maximum working pressure of a hose assembly comprising SAE J517 hose and hose connectors per SAE J516, SAE J518, SAE J1453, etc., shall not exceed the lower of the respective SAE maximum working pressure values. When using SAE J517 hose for marine applications, reference SAE J1475, SAE J1942, and SAE J1942-1. The SAE J517 100R9, 100R10, and 100R11 hoses are discontinued due to lack of demand. For DOD orders see Appendix C.

Hydraulic Flanged Tube, Pipe, and Hose Connections, 4-Screw Flange Connection Part 2: 42 MPa (Code 62)

2017-04-13
CURRENT
J518/2_201704
This SAE Standard covers general and dimensional specifications for the Code 62 metric (type 1) and inch (type 2) flanged heads, flange clamps (FC and FCM), and split flange clamps (FCS and FCSM) applicable to four-screw flange type tube, pipe, and hose connections. Also included are the recommended port dimensions and port design considerations. Type 2 (inch) flange clamps and split flanges are not for new design. The flanged heads specified are incorporated into fittings having suitable means for attachment of tubes, pipes, or hoses to provide connection ends. These connections are intended for application in hydraulic systems, on industrial and commercial products, where it is desired to avoid the use of threaded connections. The rated working pressure of an assembly shall not exceed the least of all the component working pressure rated values. THE FOLLOWING GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS SUPPLEMENT THE DIMENSIONAL DATA CONTAINED IN THE TABLES WITH RESPECT TO ALL UNSPECIFIED DETAIL.
