These requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements as determined by NADCAP, but the audit checklist shall, at a minimum, assure that NADCAP Accredited Heat Treat Suppliers meet all of the requirements contained in this standard.

This Aerospace Standard establishes the minimum requirements necessary for NADCAP accreditation of a General Quality System the meets, at a minimum, MIL-Q-9858. These requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements at the discretion of the NADCAP General Quality Systems Task Group. It is the intent of this standard to provide a harmonized quality standard that meets MIL-Q-9858, MIL-STD-45662, and the relevant portions of MIL-STD-1520. In addition to meeting these requirements as a minimum, an attempt has been made to harmonize the requirements of MIL-Q and the ISO9000 series of standards. Where similar requirements existed between these two standards, the more stringent requirement was imposed.

This Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the requirements for Heat Treating Accreditation by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP). These requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements specified by the NADCAP Heat Treating Task Group. Using the audit checklist (AC7102) will ensure that accredited heat treat suppliers meet all of the requirements in this standard and all applicable supplementary standards. All instructions, procedures, tests and inspection records, etc., referenced herein shall be in writing; distribution of instructions and procedures (including all revisions) shall be recorded and controlled. The NADCAP Heat Treating Task Group recognizes SAE AS7004, SAE AS7106, and SAE AS7107 as equivalent to the systems questions of this document as noted in the NADCAP Auditor Handbook.

Demonstrated compliance (as described in SAE AS7003) to AS7102 satisfies the requirements contained herein.

The requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements specified by the NADCAP Nonconventional Machining and Surface Enhancement (NMSE) Task Group. Using the corresponding Audit Criteria (PRI AC7116) will ensure that accredited Nonconventional Machining suppliers meet all of the requirements in this standard and all applicable supplementary standards. The purpose of this audit program is to assess a supplier's ability to consistently provide a product or service that conforms to the technical specifications and customer requirements.

This Aerospace Standard (AS) establishes the requirements for suppliers of nondestructive testing (NDT) to be accredited by the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP) in accordance with the current revision of SAE AS7003. Using the audit checklist and the applicable supplementary checklists will ensure that accredited NDT suppliers meet the requirements of this standard and all applicable supplementary standards. When customer requirements differ from those specified herein, the customer requirements shall take precedence. The NADCAP Nondestructive Testing Task Group recognizes SAE AS7004, SAE AS7106, SAE AS7107 or other quality systems documents approved by the NADCAP NDT Task Group as equivalent to portions of this document as noted in the audit checklist.
