Moment Weighing Systems – Single-Axis for Gas Turbine Blade Moment Weight Measurement

2016-11-28
WIP
ARP6914
The scope of these standards will relate to single-axis moment scales only. Topics covered include dimensional characteristics of single-axis moment scale interfaces, general tooling requirements, scale and tooling accuracy, and display instrument accuracy requirements. Additionally, general guidelines for qualification of equipment and tooling are included, as are general requirements for single-axis blade distribution software.

Conducting Measurement System Analysis for Balancing Tasks

2017-10-18
WIP
AIR6966
The primary goal of this new Aerospace Information Report is to provide guidelines to conduct effective Gage R&R studies for balancing tasks. This new Aerospace information report will inform process planners and machine operators how to properly conduct a Gage R&R study and interpret results. The contents of the report are: introduction, step by step guidelines to conduct Gage R&R study, data analysis options, and result interpretation.

Balancing Systems – Isolating Repeatability Issues in Challenging Balancing Applications

2016-11-09
WIP
AIR6911
The goal of this new Aerospace Information Report is to supplement the content of AS6327™ and provide a reference document for the new Aerospace Standard. This new Aerospace Information Report will serve as a practical resource that offers guidance to the machine operator and Process Engineer for isolating the source(s) of non-repeatability in measured unbalance data. The content will include: • Machine Capability to achieve the specified unbalance tolerances and repeat within those tolerances • Tooling Capability to repeat within the specified unbalance tolerances • Rotor characteristics that may preclude repeating within the required unbalance tolerances.

Balancing Machines - Verification Test Requirements

2020-08-25
CURRENT
AS8617
This document specifies instructions to verify proper calibration of all balancing machines used for processing gas turbine rotors. Detailed test procedures and test log samples are provided to evaluate the condition of the machine under test. These performance and test requirements may be used for new installations, periodic surveillance, or following repairs that may have affected machine performance. Calibration of the balancing machine is an activity done prior to verification testing and is outside the scope of this document. Troubleshooting of difficulties during the verification tests is also outside the scope of this document; this document is purely an instructive procedure.
