HISTORICAL
AS6228
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) covers the requirements and technical guidance for evaluation of life-cycle cost, productivity, and safety/health factors related to power hand tool selection. It applies approaches to selection of quieter and lower vibration hand-held powered tools, with optimal ergonomic features, for the prevention of Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS), hearing loss and repetitive motion injuries. It suggests use of noise and vibration data provided by vendors to be verified and supplemented by information available through the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and European Union databases. Inclusion/exclusion of data in this document is not intended to imply that all of the products described herein are the only production models that meet this standard. Consumers are requested to consult with manufacturers concerning lists of stock production models that meet this standard.

Pneumatic Tire/Wheel/Runflat Assembly Qualifications for Military Tactical Wheeled Vehicles

2013-03-22
HISTORICAL
J2014_201303
This SAE Standard applies to all combinations of pneumatic tires, wheels, or runflat devices for military tactical wheeled vehicles only as defined in SAE J2013. This applies to original equipment and new replacement tires, retread tires, wheels or runflat devices. This document describes tests and test methodology, which will be used to evaluate and measure tire/wheel/runflat system and changes in vehicle performance. All of the tests included in this document are not required for each tire/wheel/runflat assembly. The Government Tire Engineering Office and Program Office for the vehicle system have the responsibility for the selection of a specific test(s) to be used. The selected test(s) should be limited to that required to evaluate the tire/wheel/runflat system and changes in vehicle performance. Selected requirements of this specification shall be used as the basis for procurement of a tire, wheel and/or runflat device for military tactical wheeled vehicles.

JOINT SAE/TMC ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE BETWEEN MICROCOMPUTER SYSTEMS IN HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLE APPLICATIONS

1989-11-01
HISTORICAL
J1587_198911
This document defines a document for the format of messages and data that is of general value to modules on the data communications link. Included are field descriptions, size, scale, internal data representation, and position within a message. This document also describes guidelines for the frequency of and circumstances in which messages are transmitted. In order to promote compatibility among all aspects of electronic data used in heavy-duty applications, it is the intention of the Data Format Subcommittee (in conjunction with other industry groups) to develop recommended message formats for: a Vehicle and Component Information - This includes all information that pertains to the operation of the vehicle and its components (such as performance, maintenance and diagnostic data). b Routing and Scheduling Information - Information related to the planned or actual route of the vehicle.
