This Aerospace Standard (AS) is to be used as a supplement to SAE AS7112. In addition to the requirements contained in AS7112, the requirements contained herein shall apply to suppliers seeking NADCAP Fluid System Components Accreditation for Hose Manufacturer. Hose may be manufactured as a "Qualified" end item (bulk) or to be qualified as part of an assembly. The corresponding PRI Audit Criteria (AC) is to be applied to ensure the hose is manufactured to the applicable specification(s) and standard(s).

This Aerospace Standard establishes the minimum requirements necessary for NADCAP accreditation of an Inspection System that meets, at a minimum, MIL-I-45208. These requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements at the discretion of the NADCAP General Quality Systems Task Group. It is the intent of this standard to provide a harmonized quality standard that meets MIL-I-45208, MIL-STD- 45662, and the relevant portions of MIL-STD-1520. In addition to meeting these requirements as a minimum, an attempt has been made to harmonize the requirements of MIL-Q and the ISO9000 series of standards. Where similar requirements existed between these two standards, the more stringent requirement was imposed.

It is the intent of this standard to provide a harmonized quality standard that meets MIL-Q-9858, MIL-STD-45662, and the relevant portions of MIL-STD-1520. The requirements may be supplemented by additional requirements specified by the NADCAP Elastomer Seals Task Group. Using the corresponding Audit Criteria (PRI Acs) will ensure that accredited Elastomer Seals suppliers meet all of the requirements in this standard and all applicable supplementary standards. The purpose of this audit program is to assess a supplier's ability to consistently provide a product or service that conforms to the technical specifications and customer requirements. The corresponding audit criteria are also structured to obtain information relevant to management practices and processes that directly or indirectly affect the product or service.
