The scope of this Standard is the definition of the response of a numerically controlled machine to a valid sequence of records made up of 32 bit binary words or ASCII text strings. The Standard defines the structure of these records and of the 32 bit binary words or ASCII text strings which make up the records. This standard addresses the control of machines capable of performing 2, 3, 4, and 5 axis motion of an active tool (mill, laser, pen, etc.) relative to a part, and those capable of 2 and 4 axis tool motion relative to a rotating part (turning machines), including parallel tool slide sets capable of concurrent (merged) motion.
The intent of this specification is for the procurement of the material listed on the QPL and, therefore, no qualification or equivalency threshold values are provided. Users that intend to conduct a new material qualification or equivalency program shall refer to the Quality Assurance section of this base specification, AMS3961. All material qualification and equivalency data has been archived and is available for review upon request. Contact the CMH-17 Secretariat (www.cmh17.org) for additional information.

This SAE Aerospace Information Report (AIR) describes field-level procedures to determine if 400 Hz electrical connections for external power may have been subjected to excessive wear, which may result in inadequate disengagement forces.

This dictionary of terms was prepared for use by those with a need to describe and understand the dynamics and handling of two-wheeled, single track vehicles. It is intended to span the gap between vehicle dynamics specialists and those with a more general interest. This report is pertinent to such areas as vehicle design and development, the description of two-wheeler properties, rider training and education, and the preparation of standards and regulations. This report was prepared by the SAE Motorcycle Committee, which solicits suggestions for improvements and additions to be considered in future revisions. Comments should be directed to SAE Headquarters.
This Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) establishes a method of testing, and criteria for comparative evaluation of the abrasion resistance of chafe guard, and also establishes standard test equipment to be used in conducting these tests.
An enormous economic loss, as well as a waste of natural resources, is incurred world-wide as a result of wear of components and tools. Any effort expended in an attempt to reduce this loss is indeed worthwhile. The purpose of this SAE Information Report is to present the current state of knowledge of abrasive wear. This report, therefore, covers wear, or the undesired removal of metal by mechanical action, caused by abrasive particles in contact with the surface. It does not concern metal-to-metal wear or wear in the presence of an abrasive free lubricant. Abrasive wear occurs when hard particles, such as rocks, sand, or fragments of certain hard metals, slide or roll under pressure across a surface. This action tends to cut grooves across the metal surface, much like a cutting tool. Abrasive wear is of considerable importance in any part moving in relation to an abrasive.
This SAE Recommended Practice defines conditions to which bonded assemblies can be exposed to simulate environmental aging. These recommendations are generally based on existing Original Equipment Manufacturer requirements at this time. (Environmental specifications used for this proposal were from General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler.) The substrate type, dimension, and number are described by the standard for materials being tested and should include control specimens which receive no environmental aging.
This SAE Standard specifies the operating procedures for a controlled irradiance, air-cooled xenon-arc apparatus used for the accelerated exposure of various automotive exterior materials.
