Our program brings Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education to life for students in grades PreK-12 with hands-on activities.
Robert Bosch Corporation, a leading global supplier of automotive and industrial technology, as well as consumer goods and building technology, has pledged $125,000 to fund SAE International's A World In Motion® education (AWIM), with $25,000 for 5 years, starting in 2011. In 2016 they renewed their commitment with another $25,000 pledge. These funds presently support the program and volunteers in Farmington Hills and Plymouth MI, Charleston and Fountain Inn SC, Mt. Prospect IL, and Bethlehem PA.
The AWIM goal is to engage the largest number of students at the earliest age possible in learning about STEM subjects and STEM careers, with programming ranging from grades K-8. These activities benchmark to national math and science standards. With a focus on upper-elementary student reach, Bosch continues to influence students by exposing them to project-based learning through the Engineering Design Experience. The AWIM curriculum provides a unique way for educators to be able to teach STEM concepts, while providing a path for districts to help meet the standards of science and technology.
