Multi-core safety operating system

EB tresos Safety Operating System multi-core from Elektrobit (EB) is a new operating system for automotive electronic control units (ECUs). According to the company, it is the first safety operating system in the automotive industry that enables carmakers and suppliers to create AUTOSAR-based multi-core control units conforming to the highest Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL D) in accord with ISO 26262. With EB’s new operating system, carmakers and suppliers can integrate multiple software functions from different vendors without interfering with each other on one ECU. This technology combines the flexibility of AUTOSAR multi-core software architectures with needs of safety projects. It is now possible to distribute software components to different cores without affecting the availability of the individual central processing unit cores, claims the company.
