Embedded motor control

An ARM-based embedded power family of bridge drivers from Infineon Technologies offers assimilation for intelligent motor control in various automotive applications. A single chip integrates a high-performance microcontroller using the ARM Cortex-M3 processor as well as the nonvolatile memory, analog and mixed signal peripherals, communication interfaces, and MOSFET gate drivers. The family offers 32-bit performance, standard 7 x 7 mm (0.275 x 0.275 in) quad-flat no-leads package, and reduced component count from 150 to less than 30 with all functions in a PCB area of 3 cm² (0.47 in²) and close to the motor for mechatronic designs. The TLE987x and TLE986x bridge drivers use the ARM Cortex TM-M3 processor; flash memory is scalable from 36 to 128 kB and operation is from 5.4 to 28 V.
