Aircraft Turbine Fuel Contamination History and Endurance Test Requirements
This document discusses the history and development of endurance requirements, provides an analysis of test contaminant material and includes a discussion of future requirements.
This document provides the reader with a background of aircraft turbine engine fuel system component endurance test requirements needed by engineers working on component design evaluation.
Rationale: This document is being revised to: (1) include MIL-F-8615 and JSSG 2009 - Appendix E test contaminants, (2) include ISO Test Dust contaminants that are replacements for the AC Test Dust contaminants, (3) include need for new standards for Cotton Linters contaminant, (4) include additional MIL and ASTM references for jet fuels, (5) include revisions to ensure that it is current and references modern fuel system contaminants and emerging fuels, and (6) include reference to water contamination and icing, AIR790.
