Guide for Airport Operators in Estimating Airport Snow and Ice Control Equipment
Provide an interactive tool that will provide snow and ice control professionals with an ability to estimate the number and type of equipment needed to meet the service levels they deem appropriate to their airline community, airport passengers, regional commitment and operational strategy.
Rationale: The airport snow and ice control equipment has changed dramatically over the recent two decades, and new, unique, and highly specialized equipment, as well as new and evolving techniques, have provided airport operators with choices and methods not previously available. But there is little in the way of guidance in when or how many pieces of such equipment should be available. The purpose of this AIR would be to provide guidance in these matters.
