The scope of information desired includes any information relative to how a Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical, or Electro-Optical piece part is produced. This data might include business approaches to releasing product, to manufacturing operations and controls, to testing philosophies, to actual piece part data.
Rationale: As military and space OEMs desire to shift to use state of the art electronics in their systems, they are being driven to consider the use of parts designed and manufactured for applications different than their applications. OEMs traditionally have relied on data on each lot of piece parts produced. Modern high volume parts manufacturing don't operate in the same manner as lot based manufacturers. OEMs would like to obtain certain types of additional information from piece part manufacturers to establish a confidence level in the ability of the parts to perform a specified mission where repair is not an option.
