This specification covers a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons and soluble additives.
To provide a standard composition, simulating aviation jet engine fuel. This fluid has been used typically in laboratory tests involving compatibility and interaction with aircraft materials, but usage is not limited to such applications.
Rationale: Revise JRF composition to more closely match chemical composition of current jet fuels (Jet A, JP-5, JP-8). Revise and update test method specifications and shelf life extension requirements. Update format and references to conform with AS5502. Use of Revision B fluid for compatibility testing is acceptable for up to 18 months after Revision C publish date; this exception is expected to accommodate users with incremental supply contracts.
