Rubber, Fluorocarbon Elastomer (FKM) 70 to 80 Hardness, Low Temperature Sealing Tg -22 °F (-30 °C) For Elastomeric Shapes or Parts in Gas Turbine Engine Oil, Fuel and Hydraulic Systems
AMS3384
This specification covers a high temperature, compression set and fluid resistant fluorocarbon (FKM) rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes for aeronautical and aerospace applications.
Rationale:
This specification supersedes AMS-R-83485 and creates two specifications: AMS3000-series and AMS7000-series, with a new part specification added. The technical requirements of AMS-R-83485 have been maintained, with the addition of a long-term compression set requirement, replacement of AMS3021 (diester) with BP Reference Oil 300, AMS3085 (representative of HTS class gas turbine lubricants), and the addition of a glass transition (Tg) value/requirement. AS83485 part standard will supersede AMS-R-83485/1.
