This specification covers an aluminum alloy in the form of sheet and plate, alclad two sides, 0.188 to 1.750 inch (4.775 to 44.450 mm) inclusive, in thickness, supplied in the annealed (O) condition (see 8.5).
Rationale: AMS4040R is being reviewed as part of the SAE’s five year review policy. The committee will look at possible changes to ordering information and other potential updates throughout the standard.
