Titanium Alloy, Bars, Wire, and Rings 8a1 1mo 1v Solution Heat Treated and Stabilized AMS4972E

This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, flash welded rings, and stock or flash welded rings or heading.

This alloy has been used typically for parts requiring strength up to 800 degrees F (427 degrees C), but usage is not limited to such applications.

Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; SAE ARP 982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
