This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, flash welded rings 3.00 inches (76.2 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and 16 in2 (103 cm2) and under in cross-sectional area and stock of any size for flash welded rings (see 8.6).
Rationale:
AMS4975P results from a Five-Year Review and update of the specification. Changes have been made to require reporting of properties outside the size limits (3.5.1.1.4), prohibit unauthorized exceptions (3.9, 8.4), revise composition (2.2, 3.1), reporting (4.4.3), and marking (5.1.1), and allow use of immediate prior specification revision (8.5).
