The scope of this Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) is to establish the criteria for aircraft installations which shall ensure rapid and effective use of emergency flotation equipment in the event of ditching.
Rationale: The contents of this document were incorporated into ARP997C - Installation and Stowage Provisions for Emergency Equipment in the Transport Aircraft Passenger Cabin, which was published on January 24th, 2007. Therefore, ARP496C - Stowage of Cabin Emergency Flotation Equipment is being cancelled.
