This document establishes training guidelines applicable to aerospace photonics technician specialist technical training for individuals involved in the manufacturing, installation, support, integration and testing of photonic systems. Photonics technicians work in jobs where they assemble, measure, test, and repair optical components such as lenses, mirrors, and filters and optical sources such as lasers and light emitting diodes (LEDs).

This document outlines the minimum training requirements for all personnel working as aerospace photonics technician specialist in accordance with aerospace industry best practices.
