Rationale: The SAE Aircraft Seat Committee developed and approved Rev new of ARP6199 in 2012, with the goal of providing the seat industry with one set of seat Heat Release Special Conditions (HRSC) requirements. Since its approval, ARP6199 has not been utilized by all OEMs, as originally envisioned. The previous version of ARP6199 required more clarity and some modification to be harmonized. This version presents an updated common criteria for determining which panels on the seat must be evaluated and substantiated.
