PROCESS CONTROL DOCUMENTATION (PCD) FOR ADDITIVE PROCESSES

To provide the requirements for Process Control Documents (PCD’s) to be used in the additive manufacturing of aerospace components. This document applies to all manufacturing processes performed in accordance with SAE AMS-AM material and process specifications.
Rationale: This document will supplement and enable the use of SAE AMS process specifications by providing guidance on establishing PCD's for AM applications. The document will provide an explanation of what typical PCD's should contain along with useful examples of mock PCD's. It is not intended to be an Aerospace Standard because it only provides guidance without being prescriptive. It is felt that this will help standardize PCD content across the industry through education and not prescription.
