The proposed scope of the guidance document is:
Part 25 certification (Civil operation (incl design, production and operational phases))
Fuel Systems (*)
Methodology to demonstrate compliance with CS25.981/FAR25.981 performance requirement
Methodology to implement and check compliance with CS 25.899/FAR25.899 prescriptive requirement
All fuels approved to be used for aircraft worldwide
operation
(*) A fuel system includes any component within either the fuel tank structure or the fuel tank systems, and any airplane structure or system components that penetrate, connect to, or are located within a fuel tank.
Rationale: Creating new ARP to provide guidance on the compliance methods for electrostatic hazards. The rationale for this topic area to be covered in AE2 is due to the contradictory mitigation strategy as lightning hazards. Typically, personnel responsible for lightning hazards also deal with electrostatics hazards.
