Minimization of High Temperature Oxidation, Aluminum Alloy Heat Treatment
ARP7500
This recommended practice provides recommendations for minimizing high temperature oxidation (HTO) during the heat treatment of aluminum alloy products and parts. HTO leads to deterioration of properties.
Rationale: ARP7500 results from a Five-Year Review and update of this specification. This standard is being reviewed as part of the SAE Five-Year Review policy. The committee will look at possible changes to ordering information and other potential updates throughout the standard.
