Rationale: Ultrasonic inspection of thin wall metal tubing per AMS2634 cannot be performed on tubing with an outer diameter less than 0.1875 inch. Existing NDT requirements in several titanium tubing specifications therefore cannot be met for small diameter tubing. AMS4922D was balloted and published with electromagnetic inspection added as an alternate to ultrasonic inspection. This GA proposes to make the same change in several other tubing specifications with similar requirements.
