Use Cases for Communication Between Plug-in Vehicles and the Utility Grid
J2836/1_201907
This SAE Information Report establishes Use Cases for communication between plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) and the electric power grid, for energy transfer and other applications.
Rationale:
The Use Cases described in the published version identify the requirements for direct communication to the utility and slight updates are to be made at this time. This update will also add (1) Indirect communication options to the utility that may include using a third party, and (2) Provider communication with a mobile service provider such as the EVSE site for locating available stations, making reservations, etc., that may be desired prior to the vehicle reaching a charging site.
