This SAE Recommended Practice incorporates a track-based test procedure that produces a representative value for vehicle top speed when operating on a level paved road with a fully charged battery.
Rationale: With the advancements of electric motorcycles and the increased amount of data gathered in testing the motorcycles we have experienced learnings and advancements in how we test these vehicles. Using these learnings improvements can be made to the original version of this document.
