Provide industry consensus for various aspects of the FMVSS 108 Adaptive Driving Beam requirements where further clarification is required to promote repeatability and reproducibility of the testing.
Rationale: FMVSS 108 was updated to allow Adaptive Driving Beams in the United States. The regulatory update incorporated a number of new requirements which diverge from the traditional methods used to regulate automotive lighting. The regulatory updates were insufficient in detail, which the industry believes will result in testing variability between the various parties who would be involved development, certification, and audit testing. This document would better define and clarify parameters from the regulation which will promote test repeatability.
