This Recommended Practice is intended to provide the commercial vehicle industry with best practices related to commercial vehicle operation for public road safety and higher dynamic events.
This document is a supplement to SAE J3300.
Rationale: This Recommended Practice describes the best practices as they relate to commercial vehicle operation, primarily for purposes of vehicle testing and evaluation or other professional driving. This document, in combination with SAE J3300, may be used as a guide for best practices related to commercial vehicle operation and testing. This document reflects current industry practice as reflected by on-going cooperation of OEM, supplier, independent test facilities, and other driving-related organizations. It is anticipated that this Recommended Practice will evolve into a broadly-accepted SAE Standard that will promote harmonization of driving skill levels across the industry.
