Two subcommittees under the SAE AE-8 Aerospace Electrical/Electronic Distribution Systems Committee met the first week of April in Cincinnati. AE-8A Systems Installation and AE-8D Wire and Cable hold their meetings jointly, twice a year (in April and October).
Recent activities of the groups include:
Clifton Pettigrew, Boeing, received a plaque for his leadership role as past Chair of the AE-8A Subcommittee. The award was presented by the incoming AE-8A Chair, Thomas Harris, Boeing.
James Ide, Thermax/CDT presented a plaque to John Beatty, A.E. Petsche, for his years of support given to AE-8D as member and leader of the Wire Performance & Test Methods Task Group.
Both of the subcommittees urge participation of any companies on QPLs that have now become industry standards. The activity that takes place in the AE-8A and AE-8D groups, as well as the other subcommittees under AE-8 will impact all suppliers on related QPLs.
The next meeting of the subcommittees will take place the week of October 20, 2003 at the Opryland Hotel, Nashville, TN, in conjunction with the SAE Aerospace Electrical Interconnect Systems Symposium (AEISS). The one-day symposium will be held on Wednesday, October 22. All AE-8 subcommittees will be conducting meetings during this week. The SAE Avionics Systems Division Meeting will be meeting in conjunction with AE-8 the same week in Nashville.
