Overview
“The scope of the Power Quality Task Force (J2894 ; TEVHYB8) is to establish recommended practices for characterizing and testing battery chargers for plug-in electrified vehicles that will enable equipment manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers, electric utilities and others to make reasonable design decisions regarding power quality. The main activities are to identify the parameters of the charger needed to preserve the quality of the AC service, identify characteristics of the AC service that may impact charger performance, and to identify values for power quality and power control parameters based on current U.S. and international standards that are technically feasible and cost effective. Test procedures are defined for these parameters including the energy efficiency of the combined system of vehicle/battery/charger/supply equipment. “
