The TSC8300 is a new power transfer coupling from startup-company Twin Spring Coupling (Pearl River, NY) that is warrantied to 300 lb·ft (407 N·m) of torque. Increased flexibility with the same torque curves allows the designer/engineer to achieve increased reliability with little to no modification, according to CEO Darren Finch. The constant maintenance of the internals of a universal joint is not a factor with the company’s coupling since there are no internal components—i.e., no needle bearings to maintain, no bearings to wear out.
