Digital Annex of Diagnostic Trouble Code Definitions and Failure Type Byte Definitions

2024-03-06
CURRENT
J2012DA_202403
The J2012 Digital Annex of Diagnostic Trouble Code Definitions Spreadsheet provides DTC information in an excel format for use in your organization's work processes. The column headings include the same information as contained in the J2012 standard. Information in the excel spreadsheet will be updated several times annually and the spreadsheet includes a column heading denoting which DTCs have been updated in the current version.

Ice Adhesion Testing Methods

2024-03-05
WIP
AIR7529
Consolidate ice adhesion & accretion (and shedding) testing methods & define their applicability to real world icing conditions (need to define the attributes & processes) Document the physics governing ice adhesion strengths & accretion behaviors Define characteristics of ice formed in a range of atmosphere conditions Propose testing methods & facility requirements capable of differentiating ice adhesion consistently Define material properties affecting ice adhesion, including surface characteristics, preparation methods, and degradation Definitions of terminologies (ice types, atmosphere conditions, accretion dynamics, strengths & applicability (shear, tensile etc.), passive ice protection vs. active ice protection, etc.)

Aerospace Series – 9S Problem-Solving Methodology

2024-03-04
WIP
IA9136
The objective of any organization, as part of continual improvement, is to reduce the number of issues (i.e., undesirable conditions, defects, failures) and to minimize their impact on quality, delivery performance, and cost. This includes having processes in place to identify and select significant and recurrent issues to eradicate, which implies having well identified problems, a common understanding of their impact and associated root causes and having defined and implemented adequate actions so that these problems, including similar issues will not happen again.

Aerospace Vehicle Wiring, Lessons Learned

2024-03-04
CURRENT
AIR6808A
This AIR is limited to the requirements of AS50881 and examines these requirements, providing rationale behind them. AS50881 is only applicable to the aircraft EWIS. Pods and other devices that can be attached to an aircraft are considered as part of the aircraft equipment design. Its scope does not include wiring inside of airborne electronic equipment but does apply to wiring externally attached to such equipment. The AS50881 scope does not include attached devices but does include the interface between the pod/equipment and aircraft wiring. Section 3.3.5 addresses components such as antennas and other similar equipment that were once supplied as Government Furnished Aeronautical/Aerospace Equipment (GFAE).

Estimated Mechanical Properties and Machinability of Steel Bars

2024-03-04
CURRENT
J1397_202403
This SAE Information Report is intended to provide a guide to mechanical and machinability characteristics of some SAE steel grades. The ratings and properties shown are provided as general information and not as requirements for specifications unless each instance is approved by the source of supply. The data are based on resources which may no longer be totally accurate. However, this report is retained as a service in lieu of current data.
